Place Your Bet!
It was a great night at the races last Friday!
For our most recent social event, we headed out to the Lincoln Race Track for BBQ, drinks and general shenanigans. And we ALWAYS have a good time.
Sadly, I lost fifteen bucks that night. However, it was a good excuse to whip out my country books, so it was well spent. My only regreat is that we didn’t make it out for the cowboy belt buckle contest the following day. One look at my totally legit “American Farmers Feed the World” buckle (bought at a tractor pull no less) and that $50 grand prize would have been mine.
GOLincolnGO sponsored Race 6, so shortly before it began, we headed outside and took our place by the winner’s circle. There is absolutely nothing like the sound of horses galloping full force toward the finish line. I’ve never ridden a horse but always dreamed of doing it. I didn’t think the winning jockey would appreciate me trying to learn on his so I didn’t ask. Maybe next time.
Our group posed for a photo with the winning horse and our logoed blanket. GOLincolnGO!

And then Roger and I decided to pose for a photo. That blanket is way more complicated to put on than you would imagine…as witnessed by the hundreds of people in the grandstands. This is one of about 30 photos that Josie took of us trying to figure out how to make it work.

A good time was had by all and GOLincolnGO took the Lincoln Race Track by storm (and caused a scene, of course!) Hope you can join us at our next event!
Cheers!
Frances
