Billboards, posters, social media, OH MY!
First off, my apologies for being on the down low the last two weeks. Needless to say, we’ve been busy here. BUT this is no excuse for keeping you, my friends, out of the loop!
Marketing is the buzz word around the office today. With so many events in the coming months, it’s difficult to keep up with it all! In an effort to reach out to a different audience, we’re going to try a couple of different marketing tactics this year. We seem to have a healthy amount of people that know about the organization and are on the lookout for our events, which is GREAT! But, we need to reach others so we can continue to grow. As Albert Einstein said, “Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” And I’m not one to argue with Mr. Einstein.
The beauty of this new avenue that marketing has embarked on is that we’re not limited to simple billboards, posters and newspaper ads. These are valuable pieces of marketing, but now, we have to be there, and everywhere! Check out these interesting marketing pieces that catch people’s eye:

I only wish I could be so creative!
Here are some other interesting marketing stunts.
I’m curious to find out what marketing techniques you feel are most effective. What are some examples of creative, fun marketing you’ve seen?
We’re almost ready to go to press with this year’s Celebrate Lincoln poster. This piece is always the toughest, as it sets the feel for the rest of the marketing materials. On my way back from Cornerstone Printing to meet with the design guru himself, Mr. Brophy Ringdahl, I stopped in Jimmy John’s for lunch (and ordered a #5…YUM). One of the sandwich guys saw my proofs and told me how much he enjoyed the festival last year (especially the African food). It’s so fun to find people excited about the Celebrate Lincoln already! And I’m SO ready for some good food lovin’!
