Evil Jelly Beans and $50,000

Why do they have to put Easter jelly beans in such loud cellophane wrapping? As if I’m not insecure enough about my sugar love, I don’t need the whole office to know when I indulge! Sheesh people. Give a girl a break.

Anyway, it’s not just my sugar high that has me going today. Oh no, my friends. It’s something much more important and way more sweet of a deal. Last month, we submitted Celebrate Lincoln to Pepsi’s Refresh Everything contest and we’ve just found out we’ve made it to the voting process!

Here’s how it works. Pepsi is looking for people, businesses, and non-profits with ideas that will have a positive impact in the community. They’re giving the top ten ideas in our category a $50,000 grant. To get Celebrate Lincoln in the top ten, we need to have the most votes out of the 1,143 submitted ideas. This is where you come in.

Here are a few ways you can help Celebrate Lincoln receive essential funding to keep the festival affordable, growing and fabulous:

1. Take a few seconds to vote for us HERE. Each person can vote once a day and your vote will go a long way! Remember to vote once a day!

2. Become a fan on Facebook!
Become a fan on Facebook and you’ll receive reminders to vote through your newsfeed. We’ll also give you periodic updates about our ranking. You can also add their application and vote for the festival directly through Facebook!

3. Share the love! Forward this blog, invite friends through facebook or retweet us on Twitter to spread the word. If you’d like a daily reminder from yours truly, or just feel the need to hear from me every day, send me an email here.

I cannot express how much this grant would mean to us! The money would be put to good use, there’s no doubt. But the community support through your vote would mean the world to Deb, myself and the tireless volunteers that work to produce this event.

Thanks for your help!

Frances

P.S. I single-handedly support the entire Pepsi operation, so they owe me. BIG time.
