I am seriously stoked! After much anticipation, the headliners for this year’s Celebrate Lincoln festival have been announced! Kicking off the festival with some good ol’ Rock n’ Roll on Friday, June 10th are the Wheezetones and Soul Dawg. Winner of the Lincoln Journal Star’s “Lincoln’s favorite cover band” award, the Wheezetones are sure to play something you can rock out to! Another Lincoln favorite, Soul Dawg is known for their danceable beats.

If you know me at all, you know I love a good pair of cowboy boots and a catchy country tune. New this year, as part of BryanLGH’s 85th Birthday Celebration, is country night at the festival! Saturday, June 11th, Lincoln will welcome big-time country artist Rodney Atkins! One of Rodney’s current popular songs is “Farmer’s Daughter.” Sound familiar? Opening for Rodney will be Cactus Hill, another sweet band. All this for only six bucks! Um, yeah, that’s cheaper than most ANYTHING fun I can think of to celebrate a Saturday night. I’d like to mention one more thing today – the next time you see someone that helps out with this community festival, please say thank you! As essentially a completely volunteer-run event this year, these people give SO much of their time and energy to putting this thing together. There will be hick-ups - as with any large-scale event - but I guarantee you these volunteers will smile through it all!
