I Scream, You Scream…
…We all scream for ice cream! Yep, the old rhyme comes true as we head for the UNL Dairy Store on East Campus for the GOLincolnGO April membership luncheon on Thursday, April 21st from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The UNL Dairy Store or Varsity Dairy, as it was once called, has been selling dairy products since 1917. If you brought your own cup to the store in the late 1920’s a nickel would buy all the milk you could drink.
We can’t match that deal, but join us as we enjoy lunch (ice cream included!) and learn more about the Dairy Store’s rich history.
Stopping at the Dairy Store has become a tradition in many families, as well as giving their cheese and meat Gift Boxes at Christmas time. The original East Campus location, as well as the newer location in the Union Building on Main Campus, offers a rotation of daily lunch specials and a constantly changing variety of ice cream made in their own dairy plant on East Campus. The Dairy Plant, now a part of The Food Processing Center, assists food processing businesses in Nebraska, provides experience for Food Science and related students and facilitates research projects involving dairy products.
Please register and pre-pay for the luncheon by April 18th at 5 p.m.
