PC Load Letter?!

We’re having the Great Copier War of 2010 over here at the office and I’m taking this time to reflect, regroup and (hopefully) rekindle my somewhat tumultuous relationship with the Paper-Eating Beast. This all depends on what time the tech support arrives to fix the darn thing after it made machine gunning sounds that had the whole office up in arms. While today will surely go down in copier history, September 12, 2009 will forever live in infamy. Seven paper jams is my personal best. Can anyone do better?

On to the brighter, sunnier notes. The Celebrate Lincoln committee had our monthly meeting yesterday and it was a good one. We’ll be announcing some really great, talented, high-energy headliners (if I do say so myself) in the next few weeks and I can’t wait to let the cat out of the bag. For now, we’re working hard to bring in new people to be trained by the diehards and involve as many members as we can with this event, as well as other events. There are so many volunteer opportunities that range from a few hours to selling your soul to Updowntowners. But since “our passion is bringing people together,” we want to draw people in, get them connected with others and let them know there’s a place for them here. We’re doing our best to get the word out, but if you’re looking for a place to plug in, just let us know and we’ll find a great fit for you. I promise.

In other news, we’re updating our website! Being the tech-nerd that I am, I’m probably way more excited about the programming updates than I should be. Thanks to a generous grant from the Lancaster County Visitors Improvement Fund, Firespring is working hard to figure out exactly what updates we need/want and cleaning up our site design. Look for the updated site to launch sometime around June. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised!

That’s all for now.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone,

Frances
